Arrival Policy - Critical Patients Seen First
As an emergency facility, most patients are seen on a first-come-first-served basis. If animals arrive with life-threatening injuries or medical problems, they are always seen immediately. This can result in an unavoidable wait for non-critical animals. Your patience as we attend to each and every pet is greatly appreciated.
Payment is due at the time services are rendered. We accept a variety of payment options, including cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and CareCredit.
For people who need to arrange a payment plan, the Animal Emergency Clinic of Mid-Maine accepts CareCredit. To find out more about this financing opportunity, call AECM at 207-777-1110. Apply for CareCredit yourself (see instructions below) and you will receive a decision in seconds! Simply fill out and submit the application, and wait online for your decision to appear. Once you receive the decision, print out your response and present it, along with two forms of identification, to AECM staff.
CareCredit is a personal line of credit for healthcare, both human and veterinary. It works like a credit card that is used for your pet's healthcare services.
To apply for CareCredit, click, fill out and submit the CareCredit Online Credit Application. If accessing the Internet is not an option, you can also call their 24/7 phone number at 1-800-365-8295.
